Day at the Zoo (Fort Worth Zoo)

Last Saturday was so beautiful. We decided to take the kids to the zoo in Fort Worth. Austin had been to the Dallas Zoo a couple of times but none of us had been to the Fort Worth Zoo, at least not since I was a kid. So this was Kaitlyn's first trip to the zoo. We had a great time and the kids did wonderful.

This was the first stop. That big guy in the back ground put on quite a show, he did some push ups that reminded Austin and Mommy of Me. It must have been the similar size of our arms.

Some kid threw his shoe in the exhibit. This bear loved it, he played with it the whole time we were watching him.

This is the same bear, Kaitlyn thought she could get in their and play with that shoe too.

Austin is so cute. He really couldn't figure out why we couldn't just hop the fences and get closer to all the animals.

My two sweethearts. It doesn't get any better than watching your sweeties enjoy a beautiful day.

Kaitlyn loved the zoo. She rode in her stroller like a champ, she also cooperated well and laid down and took a nap while we were there.



Mommy and Austin rode the Carousel that was in the Old Texas Town in the zoo. It is cool it is like walking into the wild west and then they have all the animals of Texas as well.

How would you like to walk up on this guy in the dark? No not Austin, the life sized Gator.

Austin really enjoyed the reptiles, we spent a lot of time looking at all the snakes and lizards.

Mommy Moves!!!

I thought it was about time that Jennifer was spotlighted on our blog. So hear is a little clip of just what she can do. This is what happens when you listen to 90's music at the Massingill household.

The Big 32!

We need to get better at posting as things happen, but I couldn't resist putting some pics up of Keith's birthday just a few short weeks ago!


The kids and I bought Keith a power washer for his special day and I think everything that can be power washed has.....from the patios, to the sidewalks, to the lawn chairs and table to the ENTIRE wooden playground in our backyard! Everything looks mighty clean! Thanks, hon!

Austin wanted to help Daddy blow out his candles. Kaitlyn just took it all in for she will have a candle of her own to blow out in a few short months.

Austin's Preschool Work

Each student in Austin's class had a yearly conference time with their teachers last month. They showed us the progress Austin has made through the first semester. He wrote his name in September on the above piece of paper.





In January, he wrote his name again....by himself! Isn't that amazing! We are so proud of him!

Kaitlyn's First Crawl

Kaitlyn is on the move! She may not have it down pat, but we are calling it crawling.

Family-ful Christmas

We had so much fun with Kaitlyn's first Christmas this year! Here is one of her first ornaments for our tree.

Speaking of firsts.....Austin had his first pre-school Christmas program. His 3-year-old class sang "Away In A Manger", "Jingle Bells" and "We Wish You A Merry Christmas".........Austin sang "Jingle Bells" and "We Wish You A Merry Christmas." We think he was warming up during the first song. We are so proud of him! He is getting so big!

Kaitlyn wasn't too sure about this funny little hat, but that was before we saw Santa.

Austin was a little bit shy at first, but quickly warmed up when Santa asked him what he wanted for Christmas. He told Santa he wanted a race track and dump truck! Kaitlyn was in observation mode. She kept looking up at him.

Here is our family photo at the Perkins Family Christmas. We take one every year of each little family. It is fun to see how much our families have grown!

Daddy took Kaitlyn on her first four-wheelin' expedition. She liked it so much that she whined every time Keith stopped.

This wisk is so fun for babies! When Austin was a baby he played with the same one. Both Kaitlyn and Austin had fun whirling it around and hitting Pop in the head.

I bought this calendar with the doors for Austin, so that he would know when Christmas Day was coming. He got really excited when he opened the 24th door.....I'm sure it was the stickers I placed in there for him!





Kaitlyn is waiting for her first Christmas on Christmas Eve! She is such a happy baby! Maybe that is because she thought all of those presents behind her were for her.

Wow! Santa brought Austin exactly what he asked for.....a race track and dump truck!





And of course, Baby Girl got something special too from Santa Claus!

Austin got this truck that looks just like Daddy's truck from Pop & BeBe. He had a blast driving it around. But he takes his driving very seriously!
