Celebrating A Special Week, Part 2

What a Happy Valentine's Week we all had! I'll have to say....I got some really great ideas from some other mommy blog sites that we used all week. Their ideas inspired me to be creative with the kiddos and we all loved it!

We started the week off with heart-shaped pancakes with fruit faces. I told the kids I was making pancakes, but when they got to the table and saw them.....they were too excited!

Kaitlyn ate her little smiley faces up quick!

Austin likes to refer to himself as King Austin now! We made some fun crowns out of paper bags. I got this idea from www.notimeforflashcards.com. This mommy blogger has so many neat ideas for our little ones.

And, of course, Princess Kaitlyn!

I was so excited all week about this neat idea! This one is from www.michellesjournalcorner.blogspot.com. She calls it Muffin Tin Monday and the idea is to serve at least one meal a week out of a muffin tin. We didn't get to our special lunch until Saturday, but this was a hit with the kids.....and with mommy!

The theme for this week was Red/Valentines. Austin got the biggest spoon in our drawer for his jello!

Kaitlyn didn't move on to any of the other foods until all of her jello was gone!

Austin's school had a little Valentine's party, so we got to celebrate there as well. He had a good time making his classmates their V-Day cards.

Can you tell we had lots of sweet stuff?

After we got home from Austin's school party, Mommy and Daddy had their own little surprises set out for the kiddos. Kaitlyn made sure to try out the chocolate!

And our last adventure for the week was some painting with water and stamps.....
What a special week it was and now we have such fun memories to take with us!

Happy 33rd Birthday, Honey!

We had a great time celebrating Keith's birthday this last week! We had a special dinner and Austin helped me make some extra yummy cupcakes.

As you can see, Kaitlyn really liked her cupcake!

And then we got to celebrate again last Sunday with Keith's parents, sister and niece. We had a great lunch and Keith's favorite, lemon ice box pie! He had lots of help with blowing out the candles.

Family Hike

We love to take family hikes and we enjoyed a wonderful day together this past week. The weather was perfect!

Austin found some animal tracks!

The nature trail we were on had signs informing us of the different trees and their names. We all thought this sign was funny!

Kaitlyn had such fun in her little backpack seat! She loves to be outdoors and seeing everything from up high.

Studying some acorns and ants!

She liked the backpack, but she really liked getting to be her independent self.

Before we left the house, Kaitlyn wanted me to put a bow in her hair and she kept it in throughout the entire hike. She can be such a girly girl, but also loves to play in the dirt and keep up with her big brother.

Blowing the dandelions into the air!

A Little Bit of Christmas

Even though the season is officially over, I wanted to post some fun pictures of our Christmas time together!

We're in our PJ's waiting for Christmas to come the next morning!

Austin was so careful to set out the right amount of cookies, milk, and a napkin for dear 'ole Santa.

Christmas morning came and Santa brought Austin a new bike! He was very excited!

Baby Girl got an outside chair all her own and a sweet little Minnie Mouse from Santa!

She didn't waste any time putting her baby and Minnie down for a nap in her new little crib.

This bow she actually wanted in her hair!

We went over to Pop & BeBe's house to celebrate with Blakely and the rest of the family. All 3 kiddos did so great opening their gifts and looking cute in their matching jammies!

Love this face!

Nap time....................

Blakely & Austin playing with their Leapster video games............this might have been the best gift! These two are never that still.....or quiet!

Kaitlyn decided she was going to play with all of her Christmas gifts at once...... How is that for multi-tasking at a young age!

Keith says he's a natural! :)

Grandma (my mom) gave Austin a Christmas train this year. I was excited about this because my brother had one growing up and we always put it around the Christmas tree every year. One of those traditions you cherish.
We had such a great Christmas season spent with our friends and family! We look forward to next year!

Getting Ready for Christmas!

Keith and I had plenty of help decorating for Christmas this year! This was the first Christmas that I truly understood why my dad just watched us decorate each year.....and stayed out of it....

Showing out for Landon!

Pop & BeBe drove their new Mule in the Malakoff Christmas Parade this year! The kids were so excited to ride in the parade and throw out candy to all of us.

Well......really.....a picture is worth a 1000 words! Love ya, honey!
